PUBLICITY: A letter of update and M+T Brochure goes out next week to

community supports that service people with special needs.

An Aroostook Equestrian Resource Guide is under way. Fact sheet

reviewed. When together this will enhance M&T's ability to make referrals

for riding, equipment, etc. Everyone is asked to brainstorm so we don't

miss anyone.

Nancy has been invited to share about Perfect Ponies service for

special needs people with the Limestone Rotary on 4/22. She WILL take time

to speak about M+T and ask for help with fundraising and/or grant writing.

Knowledge is almost everything. FUNDRAISING: Now that our 501(c)3 is

official, everyone reading this can send huge donations that are tax

deductible!!

Fund raising info from the Horse Power workshop reviewed.

Discussion of possible activity during Potato Blossom Fest, July.

KEEP TRACK OF THOSE IN-KIND DONATIONS. I.e.: Sara's mounting steps

and platform up date: Don has the materials

collected, the structure will be at the next meeting.

Contacting organizations such as Veterans, Lions, KC. Masons etc. was

brought up

WEBSITE: A big thanks to Pam, Megan and Al!! This is a growing site.

Keep making suggestions and definitely send in your pictures. The cost

to M+T is $50 for the hosting and $20 for the name, which was agreed to be

paid within 30 days. The monthly service charge of $19.95 will be paid by

members, donations or fund raising. So, adopt the M+T website for a month

for less than $20 or for a year for less than $240! That's

manesandtails.org TREASURER'S REPORT: Draft presented. Funds available

approximately $994. FOLLOW-UP: Next meeting SCHOLARSHIPS: Pam has been

notified of a student declining her scholarship (due to family health

issues) that was approved at last meeting. We reviewed two requests for

scholarships. One for a 10 rear old boy with ADHD and another for an older

Down Syndrome girl. Both were approved. We also discussed presenting

scholarships at schools. FOLLOW-UP: Develop an application form and bring

to next meeting. OTHER: Ground Poles/Caveletti discussed again, need

measurements.

Looking to update Business Plan.

Prerequisites: for Shelly, Sara and Ginger for June NARHA

certification/training

1. NARHA member, 2. 18 or older. 3. Registered Application 4. CPR and

First Aide 5. NARHA training

6. NARHA self study 7. Open book test 8. 25hrs supervised.

Yes, there are many hoops to jump through for NARHA (North American Riding

for the Handicapped Association) and this is just the beginning. It is

also the beginning of the County's first NARHA accredited center in

Monticello, serving people with special needs and a future training site.

Not everyone serving people with special needs may want NARHA

certification but many grantors will only work with NARHA accredited

centers.
