A NEWSLETTER will be published quarterly, first December ’04. Ideas for format : information from minutes, recognition of donations/help received, a wish list and request for in-kind and monetary donations, an account of where money has been spent, letters from beneficiaries, hopefully with some with measurable outcomes (which will help with grants), updates on goals.

WISH LIST: how about: person to direct fundraising, helmets, fencing, saddles, poles, games, lumber, horses, fly dope, indoor arena, hay, etc. . . . . . . . . .

SCHOLARSHIP department: the request for funding for a child with Downs syndrome was previously approved for 100$ pending the negative neck x-ray and doctor’s note. Yes, we will hold these funds for the Spring season. Another 100$ is going out to two children, one from Orient, another from Houlton. Pam is contacting to see if the recipients are still interested, along with one case manager’s input on measuring outcomes (information needed for future grants).

GRANTS: Nancy is trying to contact Maureen Akerson, in Limestone for some direction.

Limestone Rotary does an auction late October, Nancy is hoping to attend to help, to learn more about how fundraisers’ (people and mechanics) work.

INCOMING: discussion of a request letter specifically aimed at collecting funds for specific reasons, sponsoring ie: sponsor a special needs child/adult for X-many$ of lessons, or helmets, or send an instructor to NARHA training, become a volunteer. Perhaps we could recognize sponsors and volunteers with M+T t-shirts or???and mail to ?????.

This needs to come together by our Nov 3 meeting.

BUSINESS CARDS will remain personal. Each of us with our own business card, with our own format, with our own message in our own words, with basic M+T info, site included.
