and excellent program. Three NARHA evaluators were on site to provide
expert training instruction. The workshop covered; Disabilities, Teaching
Techniques, The Therapy Horse, Equipment, Volunteers and Mounting/Dismounting.
Certification required a Candidates Riding Test and Candidates to teach half
hour certification lesson to two special needs students. It was a busy three
days but Ginger, Sara & Shelley all met the certifications requirements.
NOW we have NARHA certified riding instructors in Aroostook willing to host future trainings HERE,
in ‘the County!’
OTHER:
Fund-raising – We are really in need of someone to guide us through future fundrasing. Grants are being looked at along with a way to measure outcomes of money already used. Since we are mostly horse people, we know how to spend money, not make it. We are hard workers, in need of a fundraising coordinator, even to help with some of the ideas we have but don’t know where to start. Help?
Minutes - discussed putting minutes on Web site and sending out a Newsletter
periodically to interested parties.
Want List - discussed posting a want list on Web site
Donations - 10.00 donation received.
Aroostook Horse and Pony Associates have offered to assist those wishing to
acquire NARHA Instructor Certification and are asking for donations to Manes &
Tails in return.
