MINUTES: Minutes of 04/15/03 approved as written.
TOPIC: In kind Donations
DISCUSSION: Each person will keep records of the time, money, and materials
they have contributed to M & T and turn in periodically for a receipt.
This way MT will have a record.
*Cavalletti and mounting block w/steps materials and
fabrication, donated by Don Violette to MT and on their way to Aroostook
Horse and Pony Assoc. for their use in riding lessons.
*MFX has donated Web site cost for this year. Thank you MFX and PAM!
*Anyone wishing to contribute simply contact a meeting member.
*Anyone needing SUPPORT please contact a meeting member.
FOLLOW-UP: Ongoing
TOPIC: Treasurer's Report: approved as submitted
DISCUSSION: We need to raise more money. See fundraisers/grants
FOLLOW UP: Continue work towards funds, ongoing. We welcome new ideas, volunteers.
2005 budget should be started.
TOPIC: Scholarships
DISCUSSION: No requests received at this meeting. Shelly has been working on an
application to fill out for requests which includes (but not mandatory) release
for using photographs etc for publicity.
One special needs rider we are supporting will be receiving her
scholarship to ride Special Olympics 2004, this will be awarded during her H.S.
graduation ceremony.
TOPIC: Grants/Fund-raising
DISCUSSION: Pam shared info that she had gathered for fund-raisers: Walmart
does matching moneys for fund-raising, possible grant for helmets and the
question of
applying to Libra. We may want to have special meeting to brainstorm.
*Maine Potato Feast in July - possible pony rides? Tracy Kinny may be
coordinating volunteers for this if it goes.
*Nancy will look for a donation that we could sell raffle tickets on, then we
can ask Walmart to match the funds. Looking for volunteers to help!
*Pam and Shelly also shared info on a grant workshop they attended recently.
*Pam has offered to use her house in Caribou for a yard sale fund raiser next May when Caribou has the City Wide Yard Sale. Save your STUFF everyone!!! We can do pickups next April.
OTHER:
Rotary Meeting in Limestone report from Pam and Nancy that the meeting went well
and that a rotary member experience in large grants will contact Nancy to mentor
us with future grants.
NARHA CAT Course - Sara, Ginger and Shelley attended. The workshop was well
worth attending and we found that though the room was a bit chilly the
atmosphere was warm, friendly
and sharing. The NARHA people really want to help new members. Our special
thanks to Judy Cross-Strelke for her support.

The Academy house is now the temporary home of the Ambulance
Service.
